The high school music program offers a variety of courses to develop and refine musical skills. All students must complete a fine arts class (designated music or art elective) in order to fulfill the graduation requirement. The comprehensive music curriculum prepares students for courses in music education, performance, composition and theatre arts.
Many students also choose to participate in our performing choral ensembles. The Hamburg Area High Concert Choir performs in two large concerts each year in the Winter and late Spring. Students learn how to perform both classical and contemporary music. They also learn valuable social skills while working cooperatively in a large group to produce beautiful music. The Hamburg Area High School Chamber Singers performs with the Concert Choir at both concerts as well as numerous performances in and out of the Berks County community, local organizations and school district events.
The high school music program also offers extra-curricular activities, such as, Night of Broadway, Drama Club, Stage Crew Club and the High School Musical.
